Easy Canvas...It's that Easy

This past summer we went to Breezy Point, Minnesota for our family vacation. This was also my first time to Minnesota. It's beautiful  there and I would highly recommend visiting if you haven't already. It was cool in the evenings (which is very different than what we are used to in TX) and the sunsets were spectacular!  We had rented a pontoon boat and each evening we went for a ride on the lake to watch the sunset. The above picture my husband took with his phone. Can you believe how good of a picture you can take with your phones these days? It's crazy!!

After getting home I received the opportunity to do a review for Easy Canvas. I was more than thrilled for this chance to work with them. The most difficult part in the whole process was trying to decide what to put on the canvas. As you can see I went with a picture of the sunset from our vacation. I feel that Easy Canvas did an excellent job portraying how beautiful it actually was onto their canvas. 

The whole process was very easy. You have two options at first. Deciding on if you want a single canvas or would like a whole wall display.  I often need help with a wall display so I will be coming back to do this one day soon. Right now, however, I chose a single canvas to work with.

After choosing the single canvas you choose the size you would like, your image, style, and then the image options (ie wrapping the canvas with your photo or applying color to the sides of your canvas) and then your done. It's that EASY!!

On the back they place a hook for easy hanging as soon as your canvas arrives.

I LOVED working with Easy Canvas and will definitely be ordering my canvas' from them again in the future.

Learning to Crochet

Disclosure: I have graciously been given the opportunity to review an online crocheting class through Annie's Crafts. All opinions that I write about are 100% my own.

I have always wanted to learn to crochet. I've tried picking it up a few times but have never followed through. You see, I'll have some one teach me, like my sweet mother in law. Then I go home to start the project and will get stuck with a question or I will get frustrated and there is no one there to help me!! So I quit every time! :( So sad...

So, when I was asked to review this beginners crochet class I was so excited to try again!! Once you decide on which class to take, you purchase the class, and then it shows up under your classes tab and it's yours to start anytime you are ready.

This is the class I chose below. Once you download the class it is yours to keep. You can go back to it anytime you need to watch a section again.

Each class has an instructor that walks you through step by step on how to begin. The instructor for this class was very thorough and would repeat herself a couple of times in the difficult areas. On the right hand side of the screen the lessons are broken down into segments. This way I was able to start a new lesson each day without having to start over. Or could go back and just watch what I needed refreshing on.

It was so nice taking the online class because I could go back and review any section that I needed to. I also could  pause the video when I wanted more time to work on something. Look how clear the picture displays what she is doing. I was always able to follow along well.

Below, is a picture of me crocheting!!  YEA!! I think it looks pretty good so far.  I'm only starting by practicing different stitches with this tutorial, but I will then start on a project. I'd love to make baby blankets for friends and family.

I am a very visual, hands on, and auditory learner. I have a difficult time doing projects like this if I were to just read it from a manual. It helps me to see someone demonstrating it, explaining it, and then allowing me to practice while I'm learning. You can email the instructor anytime with a question and they will get back to you shortly. That's really nice! So when things get difficult you are not alone and you can have someone to walk you through where you are stuck.

Look at me go!! I am so proud of myself and having so much fun. This class has made learning to crochet easy.  This is only the beginning folks.  Stay tuned for more projects! :)

Prepaid Debit Card

Disclosure: I've been given the opportunity to review a prepaid debit card from Card.com. All opinions that I write about are 100% my own.

My step daughter is 15!!! I can't believe she will be driving soon. Watch out Texas! ;) Driving on her own means she will be out and about spending money on her own as well. When I was given the opportunity to review a prepaid debit card we thought that this would be a great opportunity to have her practice managing a set amount of money.  It's the same as cash but safer. All loaded funds are 100% FDIC insured.  We thought it was better for her to start learning about managing money now before she goes off to college and we aren't there to help her as often. It's really easy for us to load the card. You can do it straight from your bank account, Western Union, Pay Pal or even transfer money from card to card.

Signing up for a card at Card.com was very easy. You go to Card.com and first get to pick out the design for your card. They have hundreds of choices! This was actually the most difficult part for me because I couldn't decide on one of the many designs for her. She does love pretty landscapes and since it is still summer I chose the Island Get Away theme. Going to the beach is something we have done together as a family for several years and means a lot to all of us. Plus, hopefully when she sees the card it will help to reminder her to SAVE for the next vacation....;)

Lastly you fill out your basic  information, you wait a few seconds to be approved and your card is on it's way! It's that easy!

I just got her card today so now it's time to put some of her money on the card and let her do the shopping....so scary!!!
